Services and Fees
Rates
Discounted services are available on a sliding scale to a limited number of patients. Fees will be based on documented income and agreed upon prior to start of treatment. For more detailed information regarding fees, please contact our office to discuss your specific situation.
Insurances Accepted (by specific providers--participation varies)
Although we do not accept any other insurance plans, services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance, depending on your policy. The office will provide you with a health insurance claim form, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Clients who carry insurance should remember that professional services are rendered and charged to the client, and not the insurance company.
Some of the patients who contact our practice seeking treatment wish our psychologists would participate in their insurance program to minimize out-of-pocket expenses. While it is true that our practice is generally only for those who are able to pay privately, it is important to note that our treatment is typically short term. In fact, one of the hallmarks of Cognitive Behavior Therapy is that it is time limited and designed to provide maximum symptom relief in the least number of sessions. Therefore, although each single session may be cheaper within an insurance network, the overall cost can often be the same or less with CBT.
Payment
Cash, check, and credit cards are all acceptable forms of payment. We accept all major credit cards, except for American Express. Payment is due at the end of each session, unless other arrangements are made.
Cancellation Policy
The scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you and your therapist. The full session fee will be charged for failure to attend a scheduled therapy session without 24-hour advanced notice of cancellation.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected fees for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
